1. Use one or the other- Many women start of their makeup routine with applying a facial moisturizer, then applying a face primer. This is not necessary, and only causing your face to be introduced to far more chemicals than needed. Applying both will also make it easier for your face to develope that "cakey" look we all try to avoid. The reason a moisturizer + primer is not necessary is because a primer is basically a moisturizer that contains higher amounts or extra silicone and glycerine. So for now on save yourself the time and $ and just use one!
2. Match the consistency like its your clothes- You wouldn't wear a blue shirt with a red skirt would you? Well the same goes for makeup! Match the consistency of products like its your outfit. If you use powder foundation, use powder blush, bronzer, and highlighter. If you use liquid foundation use liquid or cream blush, bronzer, and highlighter. This will make your face have an overall better look, and the products will work with you, not againest you.
3. Avoiding the ghostly photographs- Have you ever wondered why you, or someone else you know looks like a ghost whenever they take pictures? Why they look a lot whiter then they really are? Well I have the answer! Titanium Dioxide Titanium is a chemical that is in many beauty products due to its great sunscreen benefits. The only problem is that when it appears under a photography flash, it becomes white! It can change your skin tone anywhere from 1 shade to 5 shades lighter than your actual skin tone! So be sure to check your beauty products before you take some pictures.
4. Less equals more when it comes to eyelids- When prepping your eyelids, be sure to use the bare minimum of creams, and lotions. Your foundation is all the moisturizer you will need to prepare your eyelids. When you apply more lotions, and creams to your eyelids you are only making them greasier, and building up more oil. Your eyelids are one of the most oily features on your face, which is why you dont need extra lotion. Oil is a major absorber of eyeshadows. By keeping your eyes bare and wiping off the oil your eyeshadow will last a lot longer!
5. Why does your mascara dry out so fast?- Have you ever wondered why your mascara only lasts about a week until it starts to dry out, even though you can see a ton of product still inside? This can be very frustrating, especially for those who spend a great deal of money on mascara. So my tip for you is to stop pumping your mascara tube in a updown motion to get the product to come out. Instead twist the applicator inside the mascara tube. This will be more effective, and not cause air to suction down and dry out your mascara.
